Brazilian Butt Lift Dallas
The number of buttock augmentation surgeries has increased drastically over the last few years and they are more popular today than ever. If you would like a firmer, more rounded rear, you’re not alone. Buttock enlargement allows flat or poorly developed buttocks to be enhanced. While many women will increase the size of their breasts, they may also have an imbalance between their front and the back. Buttock enlargement addresses this disproportion. There are many women who have nice curves of the breasts and thighs, but need to round out the buttocks as well.
Using your own fat is the most natural way to augment your buttocks. Over the last few years, the buttocks have received more press coverage than ever before. We are also seeing many men requesting fat transfer to perk up a less than desirable backside! We have been performing fat transfer procedures since 2002.
Fat Grafting or Butt Implants
The use of fat grafting has revolutionized buttock lift surgery. Compared to buttock implants, it is safer and requires a shorter operative time – which saves money and decreases surgical risks. Using your own fat instead of artificial implants results in decreased pain and discomfort post-operatively, and requires minimal recuperation.
What is the Brazilian Butt Lift?
The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a butt augmentation procedure which results in youthful, prominent, perky buttocks and a more sensual body profile.
The Brazilian butt lift is actually two surgeries in one: First, your own fat is taken from less desirable areas (waist, tummy, thighs) making these areas more slim. That fat is then moved to your backside to enhance its shape and contour. The procedure is ideal for flat or sagging buttocks. It can create an illusion of a’ lift’ by adding more volume to the upper part of the butt.
How is a Brazilian Butt Lift performed?
We carefully and gently extract fat with liposuction from areas where there is an excess. Dr. Light uses this fat as a sculpting tool to craft a more perky, prominent and sensuous buttocks. The fat is removed usually from the tummy and waist. This slimming effect of the areas surrounding the buttocks will accentuate the “pop” of the butt. The ‘harvested fat’ is then processed and purified in the operating room and prepared for injection. The fat is carefully injected into the butt using special micro-cannulas. Small amounts of purified fat are injected into different areas of the buttocks and at various depths to help optimize retention of the new fat “grafts”. The surgery usually takes 2 – 3 hours.
The average amount of fat that we inject into each buttocks cheek is 500cc. Some patients may need as much as 1000cc on each side depending on available fat and the desires of the patient. The goal is not to create the biggest butt possible, but to approach the waist and buttocks as an artistic unit to sculpt a curvy, attractive transition between and smaller waist and a fuller butt.
The Brazilian Butt Lift fat transfer procedure can be individualized and ‘stylized’ based on personal and cultural preferences. some people want the bulk of the volume at the top of the buttocks to create a “shelf” while others wish to fill out the lower portion of their buttocks to create an upside down heart shape.
What are the risks of buttock augmentation using fat grafting?
Only a fraction of the donor fat removed will qualify for re-injection to the buttocks. The average long term retention is 50 – 60%. Whatever is left after 3 months is the real final result. Be aware that the brazilian butt lift result is highly dependent upon the experience of the surgeon.
Up to 15% of patients will request a second touch-up procedure because some of the transplanted fat didn’t ‘take’. Otherwise, the risks are essentially the same as with standard liposuction, which has an excellent history of safety.
The type of Anesthesia used
We use IV sedation with tumescent (numbing solution) anesthesia routinely with all of our surgeries. It is much safer than the riskier General Anesthesia – which is totally unnecessary for cosmetic surgical outpatient procedures. IV sedation has less side effects such as nausea, less risk of blood clots and lung complications, and patients recover much quickly .
What to expect after the Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery?
You can typically return to work within ten days of surgery, and feel “like your old self” around day thirty. You will wear a special garment and use a “butt pillow” placed beneath the hamstrings to relieve pressure on the buttocks for 2 – 4 weeks post-surgery. You should avoid sleeping flat on your back, as this places a lot of pressure on the buttocks, and might suppress the desired outcome. After 4 – 6 you may resume all normal activities.
After a fat transplantation procedure, how do the buttocks look and feel?
Newly shaped buttocks will feel natural after the healing process. Since the additional shape is created by a patient’s soft fat, the result will look and feel normal. Patients will not even be able to distinguish which areas have been grafted.

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?Don’t worry, you don’t need to book a flight to Brazil to have this cosmetic procedure performed. It’s just become the most popular name for a butt lift using a fat transfer. In fact, many of the best Brazilian Butt Lift surgeons are right here in the United States. The Brazilian Butt Lift can treat a flat or sagging backside with minimal downtime. During the procedure, Liposuction is used to remove unwanted fat from selected areas of the body. Common areas chosen include the lower back (directly above the buttock), the stomach, the waist and the thighs. The Brazilian Butt Lift contours flat buttocks, re-shapes the buttocks, and creates projection, if desired. The end results give an overall uplifted look and feel to the entire backside that looks artistically sculpted and more natural compared with buttock implants.
How do I know if I am a candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift? The Brazilian Butt Lift is a great choice for anyone looking to lift or enhance the contours of their backside. Those who are looking to boost their self-confidence and feel proud in (and out of) their clothes can benefit from a butt lift. It is important for anyone interested in a butt lift to have realistic expectations, be at a healthy and comfortable weight and be in good health overall. Patients must have enough fat in other regions of their body in order to transfer fat volume to their buttocks. Those in and maintain their ideal weight will see the best results. In patients with insufficient body fat, buttock implants may be considered.
How much does a Brazilian Butt Lift cost? The price for the Brazilian Butt Lift ranges depending on how much work is required and how much liposculpting will be done. The price will range from $6,500 to $14,000. There are payment plans available to accommodate different budgets.
What is the difference between a Brazilian Butt Lift and Butt Implants? The Brazilian Butt Lift is the preferred technique for buttock augmentation. Using a patient’s own fat to transfer also allows for contouring various regions, which allows for a more individualized approach. A more natural look and feel is much easier to achieve using a patient’s own fat rather than implants. A Brazilian Butt Lift also may have a lowered risk of infection since the patient’s own body tissue is used for the procedure. Liposculpting of the lower back and hips can be performed simultaneously to further enhance the results of your Brazilian butt lift.
How long will my Butt Lift last? The results of Brazilian Butt Lift can be long lasting, as long as patients maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. The normal estimate for the results that you will see is up to 20 years. While a portion of the fat injected is naturally absorbed back into the body, a portion stays and remains permanent. Natural aging will change the shape of anyone’s body over many years, therefore results are best maintained by keeping a stable and healthy body weight. Substantial weight gains or losses may affect the shape and feel of your butt lift procedure in the future. Most of the time, you can expect a 60-85% survival of the injected fat. Also, it’s good to keep in mind that smokers tend to re-absorb more of the fat that was injected during fat grafting than those who do not smoke.
Are there any risks involved with a Brazilian Butt Lift?Any surgical procedure involves some risk, but this also depends on the health and lifestyle of the patient. When performed by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, the risk of serious problems after a Brazilian Butt Lift are rare. Most complications are minor, temporary, and can be easily resolved with conservative treatment and time. Complications may include prolonged swelling, infection, scarring, or unsatisfactory aesthetic result. You can reduce your risk of complications by closely following post-operative instructions.
What is the recovery process after a Brazilian Butt Lift? After the Butt Lift, patients may experience mild bruising, swelling, and local discomfort for several days to one week after their procedure. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. The swelling and bruising, will subside over the weeks that follow your surgery. Depending on the case, you may need to wear a support garment under your clothes for a short amount of time after your surgery. Those patients are discharged home with specialized compression garments covering the treated areas. Compression garment use is encouraged for the first two to four weeks to reduce post-operative swelling. The doctor may ask you to be careful and aware of how you are seated for several weeks, but each case is different and your personalized post-operative protocol will be reviewed with you during your pre-op visits. The recovery time for the Brazilian Butt Lift is determined on a patient by patient basis, but many happy clients have returned to their desk jobs within a week’s time, or as soon as they felt comfortable. In some cases, this recovery time can last longer, but butt lift patients can expect to return to moderate activity within 3 to 4 weeks.
What if I don’t have enough body fat?If you are a very small or thin individual with low levels of overall body fat, you may not be a candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure. Often times, however, the doctor can find enough fat during your consultation to provide adequate improvement. In patients with inadequate body fat, such as naturally thin patients, or in body builders, silicone buttock implants can be used to achieve a more natural and contoured appearance.
Is anesthesia used? The Brazilian Butt Lifts is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia with deep sedation. When performed in combination with other plastic surgery procedures, general anesthesia may be used. The procedure usually takes about one to two hours, depending upon the desired level of sculpting.
Will there be bruising?Due to the risk of thinning blood and promoting bruising, Aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, Advil, and virtually all non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents are best to be avoided. In addition, anything herbal, red wine, and some supplements can promote bruising as well and should be avoided 10 days before treatment.
How much fat is injected into each side?More important than the actual amount of fat injected is the technique used to properly prepare and inject the fat so that its long term survival is improved. The final amount injected depends on the volume of good quality fat that can be obtained via liposuction. Patients who have more fat on their bodies can generally have a higher volume injected, this can range anywhere from 200 cc to 1000 cc per side. There is no defined minimum or maximum amount of fat that can be transferred per side during a Brazilian buttock lift.
How much of the fat will I keep permanently? This varies from person to person and technique used, but most patients can expect to keep about 70% of the total transferred fat. If the fat is harvested, processed, and injected correctly, the result should be long lasting. As with any type of fat transfer, some of the fat may shrink or atrophy with time. By six months you will have a good idea of how much fat will remain long-term.
What if I lose weight after the surgery, will my buttock size decrease? The buttock size can increase or decrease depending on your overall body weight fluctuations since the grafted fat will behave like fat elsewhere in your body. If you gain weight, you may see an increase in the size of your buttock as well as your entire body. If you lose weight after the surgery, your buttock may get smaller but so may your entire body.
How soon can I exercise after surgery?Patients should avoid intense, fat burning exercise for about 4-6 weeks after surgery. This will allow the newly transferred fat cells an opportunity to survive long-term. You can do some light aerobic activity and weight training a few weeks after surgery. Walking right after surgery is highly recommended.
How soon can I sit after a Brazilian Butt Lift?Patients should avoid sitting on their buttocks for 2 weeks when possible. After surgery but most feel more comfortable with the assistance of a special pillow or cushion placed under the back of their thighs.
Can I have other procedures done at the same time as a Brazilian Buttock Lift?It is possible to perform other procedures such as a tummy tuck or breast augmentation at the same time as a buttock augmentation in order to further enhance overall body shape and proportion.
What supplements should I take leading up to the procedure?Patients should take approximately 300 mg of Iron per day and 1000 mg of Vitamin C per day beginning 30 days prior to procedure date. This will help your body prepare for recovery. As long as none of the supplements are on the medications to avoid list.
How much does a Brazilian Butt Lift cost?Fat transfer to the butt will generally cost $6,700 to $8,000, depending on the extent of the surgery needed.
